For 23 years, Heritage Oak School has built a legacy and love for lifelong learning through God’s Word, classical studies, hands‐on experiences, small class instruction, and mentoring relationships for students from kindergarten through twelfth grade. Our caring community and staff are committed to seeing each individual mature and thrive in the way God intended for their life.
Founded in 1994
Founded in 1994 as a community school for the greater Tehachapi Christian community by a group of parents seeking to educate their children in such a way as to adequately prepare them for the next step in life, as God ordained: college, the military, missions, a technical trade, and above all as productive citizens for the Kingdom of Christ. These families also had a strong conviction that the parent’s role in education was first and foremost. They did not want to relinquish this responsibility, but rather sought a solution whereby the Christian community would come alongside them for support.
As the school continued to grow and further refine its mission statement, several school leaders became aware of the Classical Education Model, and after much prayer and consideration, the Board officially voted to adopt it as the school’s educational methodology in 1999 and joined the Association of Classical and Christian Schools.
Twenty‐three Years Later
Twenty three years later we continue to serve students K‐12 and have grown from a 3‐day a week university model school to a full 5‐day, WASC‐accredited institution (grades K‐12) that has students and faculty from multiple protestant churches in our area. Eighteen classes have graduated from Heritage Oak School and our alumni have spread out over the globe from Indonesia serving in missions to a Purple Heart recipient serving in Afghanistan and many others attending colleges and working in various vocations throughout the United States.
Second Generation Legacy
Second Generation Legacy students are now attending our school, as alumni understand the unique and priceless value of an education at Heritage Oak.
