Here is how you can get started!

  1. Learn more about Heritage Oak.

    We hope our website has already given you a glimpse of who we are, but there is so much more to see!

    • Schedule a visit to tour our classrooms and meet with the Head of School. We offer several designated upon request.

    • Pick up a copy of Discover Classical Christian Education: The Essential Guide for Parents during your tour and read it prior to submitting your application.

    • Read our Mission Statement and Doctrinal Statement.

    • Attend the Parenting Course offered twice annually. (This course may be taken during the Fall term of the first year of enrollment.)

  2. Submit your Application.

    Heritage Oak accepts year ­round enrollment, however those wishing to start school at the beginning of an academic year, should submit applications no later than August 15th in order to complete the process in a timely manner. Families may pick up an Admissions Packet in the school office, request a packet by mail, or download documents from the school website.

    Each application submitted should include the following completed documents in order to be processed for consideration:

    • Application for Admission

    • Pastor’s Reference Form

    • Student Questionnaire (7th-­12th grade only)

    • Immunization Records / K­1 School Entry Physical Form

    • Copy of  child's Birth Certificate

    • Copy of child's Report Cards from the previous 2 years

    • Completed Parenting Class Form OR  Sign Up for Parenting Class in the Office (must be completed by Dec. 31 of year entering HOS). 

    • $150 Application Fee (if applying before June 1 - a late fee applies beginning June 2)

  3. Complete a Meet and Greet with the Admissions Director.

    Students meet with our director to get to know their on-campus advocate during the admissions process while completeing an initial assessment to determine readiness for the Heritage Oak program.

  4. Complete the Academic Assessment.

    Upon submitting your application, you will be asked to schedule an academic assessment. The purpose of this test is two fold:

    • to insure proper grade assignment, and

    • to provide academic and social behavior information for your child’s future teacher in order to better assist the student as he or she enters the classroom environment.

      Assessments for the 2018-2019 school year will be held on May 4th and May 25th in the afternoon. Families submitting late applications (after June 1) will be contacted for a summer assessment after the Meet and Greet with the Admissions Director.

    • Kindergarten & First Grade: Prospective students visit the respective classroom with one of our teachers and an assistant, participating in a number of activities including number and letter recognition, coloring, playing, cutting, listening skills, and following directions. First grades students will be accessed for reading as well. Teachers are looking for students demonstrating classroom readiness as well as determining proper student placement.

    • Grades 2-­6: Prospective students meet with a teacher who assesses reading, math, listening, and writing skills. 

    • Grades 7­-12: Prospective students meet with a teacher who will assess reading comprehension, math skills, and writing. During this time, the faculty member will spend time with the student discussing school life, academic challenges the student is currently facing, and how he/she can transition into the classroom at Heritage Oak.

  5. Attend a New Family Consultation.

    During the New Family Consultation with our Admissions Committee, school representatives and parents will review the school’s mission and vision as well as the enrollment processes and requirements. Final grade placement will be discussed along with responsibilities and relationships within the school. Parents will also have an opportunity to ask questions and discuss individual student concerns. Typically, parents will receive a follow up phone call within 24 hours notifying the family of their application status ­ whether they may proceed and complete their Acceptance Packet or if additional concerns need to be addressed.

  6. Pick up an Acceptance Packet.

    Upon receiving your acceptance call, families should pick up an Acceptance Packet at the earliest possible date in order to complete the remaining entrance documents including but not limited to:

  7. Attend Parent Orientation.

    All parents are required to attend our annual Parent Orientation held each August (see  school calendar for specific date). Those entering during the “off season” will need to schedule an orientation meeting with the Head of School or Administrative Assistant.

  8. Attend Student Orientation (Grades 7­-12).

    All Middle and Upper School students are required to attend our annual Student Orientation Day held in August of each year. A reminder will be mailed in advance.
