About Mrs. Kennedy:
I am a widow with three grown children. Jennifer attends Cal Poly, SLO and is studying Graphic Design; Ashely attends Liberty Career College in Bakersfield and is studying to be a Medical Assistant/Phlebotomist, and Michael, attends Cuesta College in SLO, planning to go into Computer Science. I have lived in Tehachapi for 18 years, been a member of Country Oaks Baptist Church 18 years, and this is my third year teaching Math and Science to secondary students at Heritage Oak School. I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from Cal Poly, SLO, and currently am in the Teacher Credential Program at Cal State University Bakersfield. Prior to teaching at HOS, I served on the
Women’s Ministry Board for 12 years, taught Bible Studies, and was involved with Missions Ministry. Hobbies include: reading, gardening, cooking, sewing, and playing the viola. I love Math and Science, and really enjoy teaching the students at HOS. I appreciate the freedom to share our faith with one another and magnify our Great God and Savior, Jesus Christ in the Christian School setting. I am very thankful for the way HOS upholds the values of our Sovereign Lord, and seeks to please Him in all actions and attitudes. My passion is serving the Lord through teaching, and giving Him honor and glory with my life. In the 31 years that I have known the Lord Jesus, He never ceases to amaze me in His work and Person. My favorite verse in the Holy Scriptures is Jeremiah 9:23-24
Thus says the Lord, “Let not a wise man boast of his wisdom, and let not the mighty man boast of his might, let not a rich man boast of his riches; but let him who boasts boast of this, that he understands and knows Me, that I am the Lord who exercises loving kindness, justice, and righteousness on earth; for I delight in these things,” declares the Lord.
