About Mr. Engel:
Rich Engel, the school Administrator and a classroom teacher, was born on July 18, 1942, in Los Angeles, California. He entered Occidental College in 1960, graduated in June 1964, and followed up with a year at University of Northridge where he completed his education courses. He taught at Maunaolu Junior College, Maui, Hawaii, for one year, then taught high school English at Simi Valley High School for three years. At that point he joined the Los Angeles City Fire Department and worked there for just short of thirty years. He played golf for a year, then came to Heritage Oak School where he has administered and taught for thirteen years. He came to faith when he was thirty, and he believes fully Phil. 1:21. It is an honor to serve God here at HOS.
