Vision Statement

    R

It is the vision of this school is to educate, promote, establish, and equip students in the classical approach to education in light of a Christian worldview grounded in the Old and New Testaments.

    R

The vision of the school is to educate through the classical approach to ensure that our Western heritage is not lost. This will be accomplished through association with other classical schools in the Association of Classical & Christian Schools. Through various means we will seek an educational standard for a unified and directed approach to classical and Christian learning.

    R

Our vision is also to teach through a methodology known as the Trivium (grammar, logic and rhetoric), which is the educational and classical foundation of our western culture. We believe that God will bless this approach as He has in the past, as long as it follows the principles of His Word.

    R

We believe that Christianity must be studied in light of its impact on Western culture, and that it must be a part of every subject. In recognizing that our cultural heritage is from God, we do not idolize it, but we ground all that we seek to do upon the revelation of God, both in creation and Scripture, with the former being interpreted by the latter. As a classical and Christian school, we are seeking to integrate all our teaching around the revealed Word of God.

What our community is saying about us.

My favorite thing about Heritage Oak is the sense of community. So many times as parents, we felt we were doing it all alone. The second week of school, I met a mom who told me that she and her daughter had been praying for my son as he was transitioning to this new school… Now we really feel the blessing of the school, teachers, and parents coming alongside us to support us as we do our best to teach and train our children according to God’s Word. It has been an answer to our prayers! Jamie Lee

As a former public school math teacher, I certainly enjoy the sense of family and community that comes with smaller class sizes. I also appreciate the maturity of our students and their conduct in the classroom. In the public school setting, rules were never grounded in an ultimate standard, and often differed from class to class. Without a clear set of expectations for the students or a reason for learning beyond the practical, the atmosphere on campus quickly deteriorated. What a difference it makes when a school is unified by sound doctrine and the Gospel. Sure, kids are going to misbehave, but we have God’s Word as our standard, God’s glory as our motivation, and God’s grace to cover our sins and empower us to strive for excellence. Brent Whitney

    Teacher

The time that I have spent at Heritage Oak School has more than prepared me for the next exam, or the next step. HOS has latched me onto the Bible and encouraged me to turn to it in everything I do. My worldview has been shaped into that of a Proverbs 31, devote warrior woman for Christ. At Heritage Oak, I have been pushed to succeed in every area of life and to work to the best of my ability to further the Kingdom. HOS is a place where teachers are your friends and even if the sun doesn’t seem to shine, you know that it is. Emma Knowlton

    Graduate

One of my favorite things about our school is the small class sizes which nurtures my children’s abilities and willingness to relate to other children of all ages. It also allows their teachers to know them well and approach education in a way that benefits and reaches each individual student, all while promoting a knowledge and love of Scripture and seeing the world through the filter of Christ.
