Secondary Math

Edward has a B.A. degree in Mathematics and has studied Mathematics and Computer Science at the graduate level. Edward spent his first career as an engineer helping with the development of the Global Positioning System (GPS) for the Air Force. He participated in the GPS proof of concept in Yuma Arizona in the late 70’s and 80’s before helping develop GPS technology for calculating the trajectory of aircraft being tested at Edwards AFB during the 80’s and 90’s. He finished his GPS work helping engineer the modernization of the System at the LA AFB. For ten years after his retirement, he focused on athletic activities: mainly tennis, biking and running, and working as his church teaching Sunday School and in leadership roles. This summer he learned about a teaching opportunity at Heritage Oak School and began teaching Algebra I in August.

Edward’s favorite bible versus are 1 John 1:8-10. “If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. If we claim we have not sinned, we make him out to be a liar, and his word has no place in our lives.” (NIV).

Recently he shared, “The students at Heritage Oak School make teaching a blessing. It is a joy to be around young people who combine self-discipline, respect for others and a desire to grow in their relationship with God.”
